A baked overlay

A baked overlay is most efficient in terms of data size, and the number of HTTP calls required.

You specify an overlay tile set, of which we provide a set of defaults, as well as the image to overlay. In order to locate the image on the underlying map you have to provide a couple of anchors, specifying the world location of two or more image points.

Once specified you can then use the tile set produced by Cilogi Overlay as a proxy for the original tile set. We only provide a limited cover in the area around the image (a) because we assume this is all you'll need, and (b) in order to minimise the number of calls we make to the public tile server.
